Hi! I've been a reader for a couple months; this is my first time commenting. I completely agree with your opinion about ASG. I don't have any formal schooling in graphic design but I've experimented with it as a hobby and that magazine is just painful.

I was curious if you have any tips for running a successful Etsy shop. I'm taking next semester off of school and looking for something to occupy my time and possibly provide some extra cash. I was thinking about selling my vintage clothing finds on Etsy, but I'm worried that I'll put all kinds of effort into setting it up and then never sell a thing. Any tips?

You should write a letter to the editor (assuming you haven't)! Let them know how you feel, what you would change and be proactive about it - it could end up seriously benefiting you on your own path to fashion journalism. :)

I always rip "Fashion Magazine" to shreds too...and its not like its bad, it's just not good. You know? All the components are there, but after I am done with the magazine I think "hmm, I got nothing out of this". I hate HATE pixellated images...surely you can tell the difference. I agree with you rant.
