My time in Sequim has been pretty lazy. So much so that I only put on this outfit for like 20 minutes and then put my sweats back on. I don't know why I've been so unmotivated while I've been here. Perhaps I am just coming down off of the excitement of Tacoma. The beginning of my trip was so solitary and quiet and the past week has been really full of stuff. I predict the next week or so will be too, since I'll be seeing some friends in Seattle, Tacoma, and Portland in the upcoming days. Wow! After not doing much hanging out with people over the last year, it's like friend overload! Don't get me wrong, I'm loving it! I'm like... a real person! With friends and stuff, who hangs out in real life. Whoa.
I feel like I'm going through some sort of metamorphosis. That's probably a little bit too dramatic and not completely accurately put. I just am enjoying the changes that are happening in my life, and I have physical reminders of everything that's happening. My fingers are getting calloused from playing guitar, my legs are sore from bike riding, and there's dirt under my nails from working on the Winne. I love seeing the dirt run off my skin in the shower. Sounds nasty, but it reminds me that I'm living. And I love getting dirty. I don't know what it is about it. The tactility of feeling something on your skin, the visual aspect of seeing it there. I love when my hands and arms are stained with ink, paint, oil & grease, dirt.

A fan of the Delightful Dozen contacted me asking if we could help her out with styling this dress. She got it a while back and loves it, but is stumped on how to style it. I thought, why not? So here's my take on the dress. I'm sending it off next week to the next girl in the Delightful Dozen, so hopefully you'll see it styled in some different ways soon!

Sometimes it's a good thing to take a timeout sometimes we spend so much time trying to cram stuff in and make the most of a vaction we forget to actually slow down and just go with the flow and relax and enjoy the small things.
I love that you're enjoying this trip so much it's inspiring me to go on my own adventure soon, have an amazing time catching up with your friends xoxo
oh and I listened to your music earlier and you have the most wonderful voice you should make a CD!
love how you've styled the dress, it's so you! the tights look fantastic :)
I have that dirt thing too. When i play sport I get loads of mud on me on purpose.
Your whole outfit is awesome! xx
I love watching dirt fall off my skin, almost as much I love realizing in the shower that I have a new tan line. It makes me feel like I'm really experiencing life, and it's even better when it's spent outdoors.
I'm glad you're getting a chance to see your friends! Have a great time!
I just love everything about this outfit! :D xx

love this outfit, its very simple yet chic. The details really make it- the scarf, the patterned tights (your love of patterned tights is inspiring me to wear mine now. I'm getting a lot of compliments so thanks!)
I like the physical evidence you're living life- dirt, smells, calluses, and everything good. I bought a Rogan for Target dress once where the washing instructions listed that the dress was meant to get dirt, food stains, and more on it b/c it was meant to be lived in. I loved that!
I love your hair, it's amazing.
I love getting ink-stained and paint-stained too, but unfortunately it hasn't really happened in a while... will have to do something about that! :) x
Great Photos and I adore your Outfit.
The navy dress is so cute! :)

I really loved reading this post and your outfit looks beautiful. I can totally understand the whole feeling of being alive. I hope you have fun seeing all your friends and embrace it all.
You did a great job styling the dress. I'd totally wear it like that - plus maybe a cardi with this chill NWern weather.
I can't wait to hear what you do in Portland! I moved here about 4 months ago and I'm always looking for fun new things to check out.
Keep on rockin in the free worrrrldd!
At first I didn't recognize my own dress when I started reading the post haha, and then I noticed the sleeves and recognized it! I absolutely love how you styled it! I had styled it once before with boots, but just wasn't satisfied with the end result. Thank you so much again for taking it up, and i'm excited to see how everyone else styles it up!
I think it's wonderful that your trip is going so well so far! I know what you mean about feeling alive, sometimes you just need to really dig in to whatever your doing.
You look great, the blue dress looks so comfy.
xoxo, Ashley
i loved reading this. it was so honest, and real. and you look fantastic. <3
Gosh, Elizabeth, I couldn't agree more!
I think that if I were to take an adventure like yours, those are the things I would cherish in the future :)
Enjoy Living!

your photos have really become something else. they're beautiful, as are you. my goodness, look at you! completely darling. that forest looks spectacular too, the best for exploring.
i'm really impressed with everything you have accomplished and made of yourself and of this blog, little lady. all is well deserved. i can only imagine how hard you must work.
and hey, just in case, i live in seattle now. hint.
washington is such a beautiful place! love these photos. and this dress is great! Navy is one of my fall favorites
Now when you mention it, metamorphosis is exactly the word that describes the oh-so-dramatic changes I'm undergoing too. Feels weird seeing it as that, but hey, it works!
beautiful photographs my dear with beautiful scenery behind you! love your lookbook photos below you could def be a model for real! :) x
I kind of feel like if we are living the right way, then our whole life should feel like a metamorphosis. I love this journey are are on so much, thank you for inviting the world at large to tag along. You make me want to flee my 50 hr a week office job so badly. I agree with getting into life and getting dirty, last week at work I saw a bit of paint still on my arms from the weekend (I was refinishing a dresser), and it made me smile and still feel real among computers and fluorescent lights.
Best of luck with your the next leg of your trip, drive safe!

Great blog!!!
Great outfit, I love that dress and those shoes! And I love the forest-y background! XOXO, Natalya
I feel like listening to the Kid A by Radiohead album now. Thanks. hehe. you look beautiful as can be. I'm sorry you're not having as much excitement in Sequim. I am sure everything takes time with adjusting to getting friends. That would be a lot at once to have to go through. It is fun to get dirty sometimes. My husband laughs at me because I will run in mud and jump in puddles for fun at random. I'm his little frog girl.
Totally get the dirt thing. I did a lot of ceramics my senior year in high school and would always end up covered up to my elbows in clay and slip. Everyone else complained when they had to work with clay, but I loved it. The mess never bothered me, there is something strangely satisfying about it. :D
You're headed to my city, Portland! If I see the Brave I'll be sure to think positive thoughts for you and your trip! ;-) Love your blog!
There's really something incredible about actually feeling and seeing the fruits of your laborious efforts. There's also something really incredible about this outfit -- even if it only got a few moments of your day.
