The outfits on this blog are rarely outfits I wear to work. At the beginning of working for this company I was all bright eyed and bushy tailed and wore cute outfits every morning. Now I barely get enough sleep and I'm too lazy to put on something cute in the morning (read: I sleep as long as possible, until all I can do is throw on jeans and run out of the house to make it on time). So this outfit is what I wore to work today, exactly. Pretty much standard issue work outfit. Jeans, big t-shirt (sometimes the one I slept in. Yep, I'm that classy), boots or moccs, jacket.

I'm pretty much in love with this jacket, can you tell? It makes me feel so badass. I don't think it's even really intrinsically badass, but when I put it on, I feel badass. Perhaps it's just the novelty of having something new and feeling so cool wearing it. I have been aching for a complete wardrobe overhaul, but I don't have the time or money to do such a thing. I'm not the kind of person who gets a new wardrobe every season. Pretty much all of my clothes I've had for almost a year, if not more, and I don't buy new things every season. I have a few newer items here and there but overall, my dressing and outfit compilation process is entirely remix oriented. I think right now my brain is just burnt out on remixing all the things I have. It'll get new inspiration and a second wind soon enough, it always does. Sometimes I just look at my closet and think, "I don't want to wear any of that! I just want a shiny new dress to prance around in!" But, I mean, who doesn't think that from time to time, right? So it goes.

I would feel totally boss in that jacket too, its great!
I feel the same way sometimes, and thats when creativity kicks in. You look great in that jacket!
Well, I love it! I'm a pretty casual girl for the most part, so this is also similar to what I wear most days. And wearing the t-shirt you slept in? Guilty!
love your outfits in your posts! really love that button up skirt from a previous post.

p.s. redheads have it best :]
It makes me feel better about myself when I hear that even fashionistas like you wear tshirts and jeans to work! I am the worst about sleeping as late as possible, leaving myself no time to 'fix up' for work.
I always feel better if I do put effort into my appearance- but when I'm comfy in my bed in the early morning hours, being lazy about it alwasy sounds so much better!
I hate it when I look in my wardrobe and can't find anything I like, it's a good excuse for a shopping spree though! :D

Thank you so much for this post! I love getting dressed up nicely and looking good, I usually end up rushing out the door to work wearing the worst outfit, with no make up. Then I see cute girls waiting for my train in perfect outfits, and I want to cry! It's good to know that I'm not alone!
Ha, I totally laughed when you said the shirt you wear to work is sometimes the one you sleep in. I do that during the semester on occasion.
I know how you feel about getting burnt out on your wardrobe. It'll refresh soon though. That's why I try to put together outfits when I'm feeling creative from my wardrobe, that way, when I feel burnt out, I still have outfits!
I feel like I could have written this post. I always hit snooze about a zillion times before I lazily crawl out of bed and put on the first thing I touch as I blindly feel around my closet hahah.
You always look so effortlessly fantastic... I love it.
And that new jacket is definitely badass. Looks so good with your hair!
i would have to agree that the jacket is pretty badass. truthfully i wish i could wear something like that to work!

I think everyone does that sometimes. Sleep is just so crazy valuable! It doesn't even matter if I go to bed early, I still want more sleep in the morning!
I just had that feeling 2 minutes ago when I went to my closet. Hopefully inspiration hits me fairly quick here otherwise I'll be forced to spend all day in my pj's.

How did you DIY that shirt?? I love it!

and I completely agree... First day of class/work, I'm all fancy and cute and overdressed.... then it slowly decays into sleep shirts and jeans, haha. Total understanding.
lol you remind me of me a lot. I try to dress cute everyday, but I am so lazy that wear jeans, baggy shorts and T's all the time. Then randomly I will wear a skirt and throw everyone off!
I love that jacket! Reminds me of one my dad used to have, so cool :)
You look terrific in your work outfit, it's great how you can pull off such a thrown together relaxed look, but then again it's hard to look sloppy when all your clothes are stylish!
It's a great jacket on you, I often crave a single, faithful jacket, or coat, but I've just collected too many over the years, and can't let any of them go!

I feel exactly the same way! When i get up for college in the morning i can never be bothered spending all my time putting on the perfect outfit! I'd much rather sleep for longer hehe!
Love the jacket btw!
even when you just throw things together it looks amazing!

I love this post! It kind of reminds you that even wonderful bloggers like you are human, and jeans and a t-shirt are still perfectly okay. :)
And hey, you make a t-shirt and jeans look great anyways! Especially with that jacket!
And man, I totally feel you on those times of lack of inspiration.
i know that feeling well. back in the day (grade two) my cool older cousin gave me his old mighty ducks t-shirt. i wore it all the time and every time i did, i swore i was the most bad ass kid on that playground. i wish i still had it :(
With that jacket, you totally look like Mitzi from the Breakfast Club! I think that was her name anyways...the "dark" girl who is actually insanely gorgeous and amazing? yep. She was my favorite character :)
I love it.
I'm the exact same way - if I can sleep in it and wear it to work, PLUS!! haha
Love the Tee!! Daisy Dayz Home
this outfit looks SO. so. so. COMFY. i love it.
i have a men's jacket just like that and i feel exactly like that when i wear it haha..
love that look. it's perfect casual.
This post honestly made MY DAY! I wake up at 7 AM, leave at 7:10 am, look like a total scrub that got dressed in the dark, sometimes in these awful gray jeans and the same shirt I slept in.. no makeup, hair everywhere.. and I'm like.. I'm the worst person ever! I blog about personal style and here I am going to work everyday looking like a crazy! Hahahaha! Thank goodness for you.
I actually completely love that you wear the shirt you slept in to work sometimes! I've done that before. It shows you're a normal girl and down to earth, even though you've got this awesome blog showcasing all of your lovely outfits. I like to dispel the preconception that style bloggers are ALWAYS dressed to the nines. Love it.
Also, you do look badass in that jacket. Just sayin.
I love that you did this post! I also require the maximum amount of sleep and sometimes (most of the time) those precious extra 10 minutes trump any special outfit plans. I've totally kept the same shirt i slept in the night before on too haha! And here I thought you wore a dress or skirt everyday! It's nice to see you mix it up with pants and still look great :)
But you still make this outfit looks chic it's amazing :)
your hair is amazing . jealous
Great blog. Cool pics & great content.

I totally relate.
I look at my fav dress or top and think. Why aren't I getting the same feeling looking or wearing you, where did it go and i wish it would come back.
Later it dose but for a top i didn't even care about before??:)
it looks like a really comfortable jacket. You couldn't look bad-bummed no matter how much you feel it though hehe.
Oooh I love your jacket! I know what you mean about closet boredom. I have a closet bursting with clothes, yet sometimes I look in there and whine, "I have nothing to wear!"
Ha, the same thing happened to my sartorial energy, months into my new job... zap. I started out dressing like Little Miss Corporate, since I was sent to fill in a position from a staffing company and wanted to represent them in the best possible light. My co-workers hinted that I don't need to dress up so much... so now it's jeans and embellished tees or tanks with cardigans, maybe some heels. That's about as exciting as it gets. :P But if I had a cool army jacket like that, I'd live in it, too!
Love the jacket! I know what you mean about doing a wardrobe overhaul; I'm moving to a new place, so I can't afford it either. Sometimes I just get so sick of everything in my closet, so I just buy one or two new versatile pieces that I can add into the remix cycle, and I feel a lot better. At least you've got the Delightful Dozen! :)
I feel the same way about my wardrobe. I stare at it and think, "How the hell am I going to come up with anything new and exciting when I've worn everything so many times already?". I always feel like something is missing. It's always fun to see how you remix all of your clothes. So inspiring! :)
I love your hair!!! :)
I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy this jacket. It is so awesome.
