Autumn is seriously in the air up here. Leaves are already changing and starting to fall. I love autumn as much as the next person, but I'm not sure I'm ready for summer to be over yet! This is why I'm excited to be traveling. I'm hoping I'll be able to chase down some warm weather in the more southern latitudes. I do like the wintertime, but I don't think I'm ready for it quite yet. Especially since our summer hasn't really been that "summery". Last summer when I wasn't home, Alaska had one of the best summers ever, and this one where I actually am home has been very dreary and grey. Granted I like the grey, but I still do love having an actual summer. Ah yes, talking about the weather. Sorry I'm so boring! Hopefully more excitement will occur in my life soon. I suspect hectic and exciting times will be coming soon enough, so I'm kind of taking advantage of this down time.
I've been having trouble writing posts lately. Sometimes it feels like I have so much to say and other times I just feel like my head is full of mush. Do you guys ever feel totally bland? I feel that way sometimes. It makes me scared that if I get bored of myself, how is someone else going to be interested in me enough to want to hang out all the time/get married to me/etc. I guess I always come around and like myself again eventually, so maybe that's some hope? I think I fear mediocrity more than failure. Mediocrity is just hovering there in the middle, neither one extreme or the middle. You can't even feel bad for yourself being mediocre because you have the ability to change your status quo. Either fail, or work harder and succeed. Granted, sometimes feeling mediocre is just a feeling.
Okay, that was a killjoy paragraph...

well, i was going to comment on this post anywhere, before i even saw that it was a giveaway. however...what i had to say was about your paragraph on feeling mediocre or bland. i totally felt that way sometimes as well and had the same feelings of "how will someone else be able to love me if i don't always love me" well...i don't have any amazing advice or anything other then, he just will. sometimes i wonder why my boyfriend loves me (as i said, and most people feel sometimes, we don't always love ourselves) but that's why it's nice having that other person who DOES always love you...for those days that you don't love yourself, he will remind you why he loves you. i can't wait for you to find that...and you will :)

I totally get your feelings of boredom with yourself. I'm there too. I've had a lot of changes recently so most of my waking life is devoted to establishing new routines, making things go smoothly, etc. At the end of the day I've succeeded in getting myself bathed, clothed and to and from work. Not bad but not good either.
P.S. Don't count me in the giveaway as I'm 6 feet, so I don't think this dress would work on me but it's lovely!
Kind of sad you don't get to keep the dress, because this is a gorgeous set of pictures!

It's good to hate mediocrity. Or at least hate feeling mediocre; it proves that you still have the ambition to do something greater. You shouldn't worry about someone wanting to marry you because you get tired of your flaws. You will never love yourself as much as someone else will. Plus, the beauty of love is that it sees our failures and continues to love us anyway. You'll make it through this "blah" feeling. =D

I also feel a little mediocre sometimes. It's like I'm not doing anything wonderful or horrible or affecting the world in any way shape or form, and it's a really weird thing to realize that. The thing that you said about how you get bored and don't know how you'll find someone who will want to marry you or whatever. . .The thing is. . .you need to find someone who enjoys just being with you enough that they like being bored WITH you. My husband and I love to just relax and do nothing as long as we are doing nothing together. Perhaps that will happen for you too. Going to places for photos and such is always more fun though when you have people with you. . .so for instance if you find a man who will want to marry you who is willing to go on adventures looking to take photos of you or with you, that will be nice. . although I don't know if you have someone who does photograph you for you as it is. I know for me I have a tripod and remote that I use most of the time and my hubby will wait in the car with my sons while I set up a shot (and the boys love watching). Or we go with strollers in hand and then he'll take photos of me for me. . it is fun. Maybe it will be for you too.

I've followed your blog for a while now, and I'm really amazed at how you put your mind into getting a Brave and got it. Now you're living your dream, and it shows that if you just keep at it most things will happen with hard work. You are an inspiration, however cheesy that sounds.
