Sometimes I just enjoy the simplicity of dresses. You can just put on a dress and be ready to go. I even avoided putting on a belt (which I do with most of my outfits). I love that dresses are pretty non-fussy and simple, as far as outfits go. I probably would've thought the exact opposite a few years ago, but time changes things. I'm glad I'm not the same person I was a couple years ago. It's so strange to think of all the things that happen to you which make you into the person you are. I always see things in terms of analogies, and the one that describes where I am now is that life is a road and I'm just at a pit stop, refueling and getting ready to get back on the road. It's been about a year long pit stop, so I'm ready to get back to the journey of life.
This plane is actually my Dad's old Tripacer. We sold it after moving to Alaska back in the early 90's, but it's still right next to where he parks his 180. When I was a baby he used to take me flying in it. I think I'm the only one of the kids who remembers this plane. My brothers are probably too young, and one of them wasn't even born yet! At first I wasn't sure if this was the plane, but I remembered that someone had vandalized it back in the day, so there's a patch in the side from where they ripped it open to steal who knows what. It was kind of unintended, but I totally match the plane! I wonder if my dress is the same vintage as the plane too...

I always think it's funny when people ask why I put so much work into getting dressed whenever I'm wearing a dress. It's easier than pairing a jeans and a t-shirt together, just one piece and you're done!
I know what you mean about dresses being less fussy - and a year ago, I never thought I'd be saying that, either! I think it's because I wear pants so rarely that I've forgotten what to wear with them.
This is more just to you, rather than in response to anything.
I'm sitting in my bedroom right now, just thinking. Small town, I'm fifteen. And I have an idea. Something that, if it works, might make the world a better place for some people. The thing is, what happens if it doesn't work out? What happens if I'm not dedicated enough? What happens then? How do I tell my mom about it?
You're inspiration to me. You have the courage to go for it. To not worry about your education, to go and do what is right for YOU. To not worry about the what-if's, and instead to just do what you need to do.
You're, what? 23? That's eight years older than I am. Eight years down the road, your life right now is almost exactly the one I want to be living. I want a motorhome (I'd like an older one, but noo, apparently that's not "fuel efficient enough"). I want to travel across the country. I want to be single, and I'd love to be as put-together as you come off as being. The thing that seperates you from other fashion bloggers to me is that you seem REAL. I've read about your heartbreak. I've read about your life. Your blog has made me happy for you, and it's made me sad for you.
I'm not sure how these two things fit together, exactly. But I just wanted you to know how inspiring you are to me. If I do end up taking the leap, and starting this project, you will be one of the first to know.

i love it when i have a dress so good that i can feel put together with just the dress on and no accessories. it is a rare occasion, but a cherished one nonetheless
Ahh yes I have the same problem of wanting to put a belt over every dress..I feel like it always brings down the femininity of it, which I guess i tend to yield towards.
I'm jealous of your childhood plane rides..I'll never forget the first time I rode in a biplane..definitely one of the most memorable experiences of my life even though I was really young..
I use to hate dresses, it was only recently that I too have grown to love that you can just pull them on and go! Now I wear them all the time. <3

really beautiful shots. I used to want to be a pilot when I was 6. There is an airport in my hometown filed with planes like this. I always love driving by it and seeing all the planes overhead. Gorgeous dress. Simplicity is sometimes best.
