I was so excited when Maria of Lulu Letty joined the Delightful Dozen. She has such great style and I couldn't wait to see what she put up for swap. I was so thrilled that she put up her Lulu Letty ModCloth dress! I remember seeing it on her when she was featured on ModCloth and I fell in love with the simple chambray dress. It actually reminds me a lot of the dress I styled up at the Revolve photo shoot, only way less expensive!

Secret time: I play guitar. I'm not that great at it, but I do the best I can. I don't really have enough time in the day to practice all the time. This guitar is actually my little brother's but he stopped playing guitar years ago, so I have "borrowed" it. Both of my guitars got left in Washington when I moved up here. I'm excited to grab them when I drive through Washinton on my trip. Hopefully I'll have more time to play, and maybe actually finish one of my own songs. I have a music myspace, but all the songs I've posted are covers. Nothing fancy, just recorded with my Mac and GarageBand.
A guitar is the best accessory, though. Anyone looks about 100 times cooler the instant they're holding a guitar. And boys become 100 times more attractive with a guitar, pretty much universally. Why is this? I am not sure. Maybe it has something to do with guitar players knowing what to do with their hands... haha! I think people who play music use their brains in a different way too. The visual mentality is pretty ingrained in me, and I try to make my brain think in a more musical way, but it's not natural for it to be like that. It's more of a second language than a first language. Consequently, I'm not very confident when it comes to my music. Hopefully with more practice I'll gain a little confidence.

AAh! I love these photos. Your outfit is awesome- I love the lulu letty dress! I also play guitar (among other things) but not very well. I'm gonna go check out your myspace. :)
PS you sound Zooey Deschanel-ish. Love the flume cover.
beautiful pictures, I wish I could play the guitar...
love the boots! I'm a new follower and I love your style!
You have suuuuuch a beautiful voice..please keep it up!
Wow
You have a great voice!
Elizabeth!! Your voice is so pretty! I loved your Flume cover, the video with your photography...I picture you sitting on a dock singing that to a group of friends at sunset! Haha, very good, and I agree with the Zooey comment! You're very very talented, girl!!
Great outfit, too. You should be a recording/touring artist, playing covers and wearing cute clothes at coffee shops in towns you visit with your Brave, selling pieces of art while you sing lol :)
Bahahaha. I couldn't agree more! Boys DEFINITELY look 100 times more attractive with a guitar- it definitely makes my heart skip a beat. In fact, I think one of the "moments" that I realized I liked my boy, was when I watched him perform on stage!
I love those boots and that dress couldn't be cuter.
I loved all of your revolve looks!
Socks with boots : pretty much my FAVE combo of all time. Second of course to black dresses. SO, i am in LOVE with your Saturday pics!!

always love your outfits, always love your photos.
I didn't expect this voice to come out at all - not quite sure what I did imagine at all, I suppose? this is coming out much worse than it's supposed to, haha. basically, your voice is lovely and just so sweet and I like it.
you are actually really good. i adore your voice, and it is reminiscent of zooey deschanel..
That last picture is great. It should be your album cover. ;)
Guitars as accessories rock & ten times more if you can play them! My boyfriend has a Gibson that looks just like that & I'm forever stealing it because it's an attractive beast, although I mostly adore my red acoustic guitar that I've had for seven years & that I saved up for months & months & months to buy. I've got a real connection with it. & like you, I can never finish my own songs, so I stick to rockin' out covers too.
I am EXACTLY the same when it come to playing my bass. I love it, but I'm not that good at it doesn't come easily. And now after four years of owning I hardly get time to play, but I try^^
awesome guitar btw, but you don't need a guitar to make you awesome.
Love this look, the boots are awesome! And you right about the guitar it makes people so much cooler!

I really like the way you paired the dress with the boots. They work really well together. Also, I agree that holding a guitar instantly makes a person more attractive. :)
Great dress and it's awesome you guys pass it around. I love chambray. :)

I also listened to your music and I love your voice. It's almost hypnotizing. Post more songs!
I love this outfit. That dress is so great (and so Lulu Letty). I'm also so in love with those boots, they are so gorgeous!!
i love these pictures one of my fav posts of yours to date!! and i love the story below on the sleeping lady, we have a story like that in ireland there is a rock not far out in the sea which has a priests face craved in to it, the story goes that a little boy fell into the sea and the priest dove into save him, he rescued the boy but was then pulled out by the tide and never seen again. the next day the face appeared in the rocks! spooky! lol :) x
I love your beautiful pictures, they always take me away to a free holiday in Alsaka.
Can't wait buy to your album:) xx

I'm so in love with those boots!!
these photos are awesome & i love that dress. the whole set has a very seventies vibe... maybe because that's when the widespread guitar-playing phenomenon really began.
i play a little bit too, but i'm terrible at things like improvisation so i can't really jam with anyone and i have a very distinct strum style that i can't really stray from. i probably could if i cared enough to practice, but it's so much work and i get frustrated when i can't manipulate the sound the way that i want to. i wish i had kept up the violin...
wow - this is an awesome outfit! while i love lululetty - i like how you styled it better! more my personality. cute cute! :D
I've played guitar for roughly ten years, now, and am just starting to feel I'm "good" at it. I can read music, know chord structures, scales, and all that jazz, but it's just now that I'm taking the time to actually make sure I play every day. And I 100% agree about the boy playing guitar thing. My current boy played me guitar the first day we met, and sang along, and I think I fell in love basically on spot. Swooooon!
You look awesome and I love the dress on you. I liked your songs on myspace (I checked them out before), you are really talented!
I checked out your music page and it was amazing! You have such a great voice; so sweet and simple.
it is so much fun to listen to what people's singing voices are like. yours is very pretty. I love those boots! Great shots.
Oh, I love the dress on you!!! So glad you liked it.

Lovely outfit as usual, I love when people use guitars as accessories, it's some sort of universal cool factor.
I agree soo much, very zoey dechanel-esque. You have a wonderful voice, when will your growing list of talents cease to expand?
tess (quintessetially quiry) linked me a video of you singing & playing guitar! it was wonderful!
adorable pictures - those boots are too cute :)
That song Wagon Wheel was originally a half-written song by Bob Dylan and Old Crow Medicine Show finished it with their own lyrics, so the Against Me! version is a cover of a cover.
Yayyy guitar:)
@anon
Yes, I'm well aware of the origins of the song. The Against Me! version is the one I fell in love with, though, and the one I learned to play. So, yes, it is a cover of a cover.
