Double Duty

Guess what I'm wearing again! Haha. You guys are probably so sick of this skirt. Unfortunately for you, I'm not! I bought it last summer when I was in Portland and I have worn the hell out of it since then. I actually looked on Forever 21's website and they still have this skirt for sale, if any of you guys want it. I highly recommend it. Super comfy, super cute, and pretty dang inexpensive.

I wore socks with my flats, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. When I looked in the mirror I thought it looked cute, but now I'm not so sure. I love the whole socks thing that's going on, but I'm afraid it will make my legs look too short. Hm. I'm going to keep trying, but I'm still skeptical.

I rarely wear this hoodie, and I'm not entirely sure why. I guess I don't wear sweatshirts very often anymore. The back print is by Jose Parla, who came as a visiting artist to my school. I was taking Painting I at the time, so it was cool to watch him work. He had two boards set up in our studio that he was working on and taught his methods. Being a pretty young student my work was extremely derivative of his during the process, and I kind of loathe the painting I made for our assignment (I actually ended up throwing it away when I had to move out of Spokane. It was enormous and way too hard to move). Nevertheless, I learned a lot from Jose, and I absolutely adore his work. If only I could afford his work! He did a collaboration with our press too, and made a few prints, one of which was a screen print and the students got to bring in a shirt to print on.

Speaking of printing, I'm really aching to do some printing before I leave. I want to see if I can burn and borrow a screen from work. Maybe I can swing through Spokane and take over my old printshop for a couple days to do some printing there too. That would be swell!

I like the rest of the outfit, but I'm not so sure about the socks either... Honestly, at first, I thought you were wearing boots!

God, I could never get sick of that skirt. I got a little excited when I saw you said that F21 were still stocking it but I found it's only in an XS. Booooo (for me, anyway, hehe). Shipping to England probably would have cost me a kidney, anyway! I love this look - the sweatshirt makes it look very laid-back & studenty. Personally, I would have pair socks with your Keds rather than the flats you chose here but I'm not knocking it, you're certainly a girl & a half for experimenting! :]

I love how you paired that with a sweatshirt this time, so fun to see all of the outfits you create around that skirt

I actually really appreciate seeing items of clothing used multiple times... I mean, this is real life afterall- it's not like you would only wear something once and then never again!

It's great to see how you can take one item and create several different outfits around it! Keep on wearing that skirt :)

I love that skirt, so keep on featuring it as often as you like!
And I super like how you paired it with a hoodie. It looks really good. I've always been skeptical of wearing my hoodies with anything other than jeans, but I've wanted to branch out.
I love watching bloggers experiment with their clothes. It's one of my favorite things about blogging. So many fresh ideas.

I'm in love with the skirt and immediatly went looking for buying it. Well, too bad, but I adore seeing you wear it.

I don't think I'll get tired of seeing this skirt..I love it! I went browing the web to see if I could find one similar, but now that you mentioned it's still on f21's site, I just might have to buy it. I don't know what size you bought, but I'm about your size so i'm hoping XS won't be too small..(i never bought anything from f21 before, shocking I know :P)

I love skirts that are just wearable for any occasion.
I'm not sure about the socks. Socks sometimes work and they sometimes don't. it's very hard to tell sometimes.

I can't wait to try out this skirt! Love how you styled it with the hoodie. Plus, I think the socks and flats worked well since they're both black.

Favorite part of this outfit: the Enterprise necklace! SO BADASS. Heart it.

I personally prefer my socks a little longer when I'm wearing flats. It's either above the knee or somewhere about mid-calf. Otherwise you risk having them look like part of shoes, unless you wear a contrasting colour.
My main goal is to make sure my legs don't look too short (as they already are...)

i love multiple same clothing item posts! there's always a million ways to wear each outfit and it would be a shame to buy such a cute skirt and then only wear it once!

PS: I know you said your 'tattoo' was a drawing (and a phenomenal one at that!) in the post below, but I think it's AMAZING and you should get it inked for real. On your forearm too! How sweet would that be?!

I love how you used the hoodie in this outfit! I look back at all my sweatshirts and always wonder if there's a way to incorporate them into more dresed-up outfits, and now I know how! I like how you juxtaposed it with the quirky skirt-it's girly but not too frilly.

Ok so I'm scrawling down on your blog to find your post with the skirt that i wore today and thsi post just caught my eye! I was like WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!she got a tattoo??!! And then I read and in fact it was not, but I have to say don't you feel badass with a tattoo on your forearm, I secretly love the fact that mine peeks out when I wear 3/4 sleeve cardigans and my denim jacket. I can see people look at me and get all confused because I'm wearing a floral dress and heels and than BAM! a tattoo? on your arm??! Ah, I really do love throwing people off.
K, back to my search!check out my post tomorrow to see your adorable skirt!
