you ain't got no soul power

Rebecca has been obsessed with capes in the recent past and she wears them so well it made me kind of curious about them but I never ran across one to really experiment with. To my excitement, I just received this one in the mail as part of the Delightful Dozen swap and I love it! I want to steal it away and keep it forever! Maybe Kristin won't read this post and I can hide it in my closet. Just kidding, Kristin! I'm going to start a crusade to bring back capes. It's like the fashionable snuggie, and you all should know how much I love my snuggie.

I have to say, my taste in shoes is kind of changing. For some reason I always had this thing against wedge heels. I felt like they were these big chunky things attached to my feet and thought maybe my with small feet they'd look strange. With the recent influx of chunky shoes on the fashion scene I thought I'd give them a try and boy oh boy, now all I want are chunky heels! I saw these espadrilles at ModCloth and I loved the bold color and straps. I've never had a pair of espadrilles before, and I'm glad I finally got a pair!

I have to say, finding heels that fit me is one of my biggest challenges. With a shoe size of 4.5, it's nearly impossible to find heels that fit. I can wear up to 6.5's in flats, but heels are a totally different story. I pretty much can't wear pumps unless they are exactly my size. Heels that have adjustable straps are more flexible. I have a pair of fun green heels that I think I'm going to have to sell because as much as I love them, they just will not stay on my feet!

Time seems to be flying by so quickly right now, I'm just trying to hold on for dear life! Like... where did May go? It's already nearly over! I'm glad I have a whole weekend this week, maybe I can take some time to relax and just chill out. I think I'll be listening to some Of Montreal and Radiohead this weekend. Probs chilling in the Brave and maybe figuring out what is wrong with her heater. I sure do like being warm when I sleep! Must fix. I think there's a local fashion show going on this weekend by the boutique I used to work for but I'm kind of not interested in going. Hm. Well, I'm optimistic about my weekend, now I just have to get through 10 more hours of work till freedom!

I concur. I've been obsessed with capes for a few months now, I can't get enough. I love them because you don't see every 2nd person walking down the street wearing one. I assume I won't like them as much if everyone starts wearing them.
I'm sure your weekend will be great. only 13.5 hours left for me... SIGH.

That cape does look amazing on you! I never realized that you had such small feet! My gigantic hooves have the opposite problem and I often have my toes fall asleep from being forced into to small shoes. Oh the things we do for fasshion :)

I too rock the small feet -- 5 to 5.5, and you're so right, pumps can be a nightmare. I was so happy when the bootie came back, since they stay on so much better....

I really like that cape, and I have to say i totally understand your problem with heels. I use a 35 (which is a 5 in USA) and it's so difficult to find a pair which fits me... specially pumps, because i can wear bigger boots and stuff, but it's difficult anyway. Though it's easier for me, because here we are like so tiny, but in the United States everyone is so big!!

4.5 shoe...insane. I don't think I've even seen a shoe that small. A few size 5s here and there but I didn't know they made anything below that!

oo I've never been one for capes, but that one is destined for you

I love the cape - it's fabulous! I would want to keep it too.

That's so strange that you wear a larger size in flats. I'm the total opposite - my normal size is an 8, but in heels, I have to size up. I think it has to do with being a little flat-footed. Basically, heels are uncomfortable 99% of the time because of this.

I know what you mean, I wear a size 5 and its so hard to find anything with a heel that wont fall off! I love your cape (KEEP IT!!)

I feel your pain! I wear a 4.5 shoe too. People always tell me I'm "lucky" because I can fit kids shoes. Maybe I'd feel more "lucky" if kids shoes had more to offer than light up Barbie runners and less than 1 inch heels.

I have little baby feet too!!

I wear 4-4.5. Flats I can swing 6's as well! But heels are SOOO hard. They never stay on my feet and I feel like a duck trying to walk around and keep them on my feet. It's seriously the most annoying feeling in the world when you're walking and your heels stay on the ground when your foot wants to go UP!

I love your cape!

If you go through spokane on your adventure...let us all know!!

:)

Love,
maggie:)

Poor you & your little feet! I forgot to translate into UK sizing at first, I was thinking, "Ah, 4.5 that's small, but not so bad," when I double-too myself & realised you'd only be a 2.5 here. Aw! Smallest general shoe size here is a 3. One of my friend's has size 1 (!! 3 in US sizing) & is always having to settle for shoes that are often 2 sizes up. I feel for her. I thought I had trouble with half size feet!!

I really love this cape on you, I don't think you should pass it on ;]

I LOVE how you styled this cape! I often thought they were carazy, but you look so cute :) I'd die for the shoes! Adorable!

WOW! You DO have small feet! I always get jealous of all the lovely tiny shoes in Nordstrom Rack. I swear, you would think you went to heaven!

Wow I love that cape on you!! I thought you were pretty lucky to find one like kristins, till I read down and found it was hers! hehe. And I had no idea you had such small feet. That must be sooo hard to shop for. Do you have any luck with vintage shoes? I'm always seeing some fabulous vintage shoe in like a 5 and wishing I was teeny footed!

Man, I'm TOTALLY with you on the wedges. Clunky but... cute, somehow? It's just proof how much trends and friends can influence your personal style. I just always feel awkward in heels because I'm already 5'9, and as they say, the higher you are, the harder you fall. :/

Wow! You have small feel! I though I had it hard with my size 5.5/6 feet! You look wonderful though. Everything about your outfit looks perfect!

And to address an earlier post, I totally have a crush on Geof!

p.s. I have a pair of really cute 60s pumps, that are just a bit to small for me. I'm putting them in my shop tonight. You might like them.

I used to have the same unexplainable aversion to wedges. And I bought my first pair this year, and I wear them all the time. I still don't like most wedges, but I see the occasional pair that I really love.

I'm dying for the TOMS wedges to come out!
