I got my roots touched up on Sunday (which is the last time I'm going to a salon for like... ever. I don't know how some girls have the money to go to the salon each month). So you guys can expect me to be a redhead for at probably one more month and then I'm doing something else to my hair, not sure what exactly yet, but it will be done by myself and for no more than $8. Sorry, hair, I've got a Winnebago to buy.
But anyway, I had my stylist straighten my hair since it's a pain to do it myself, which means I do it like once, maybe twice a year. Honestly, I do not like my hair straightened. It just looks weird to me. Other people have said they like it, but I just don't know how to "rock it" as they say. Give me big hair, or give me death!

These tights have quickly become my new favorite pair. They're just so... substantial. Like, they feel really nice. Most of my tights are now falling apart because they are so well loved but these ones seem like they'll never fall apart! I had a near panic attack because I thought I ripped them climbing this tree, but no! Some how I actually scraped up my skin without the tights being damaged at all. I'm not sure how that works, but it's nice to have a pair of tights that doesn't get a run the second you put them on.
I've been wondering recently about how some people out there afford so many clothes. I see some bloggers wearing multiple designer items every day, shoes that are hundreds of dollars, and it just blows my mind. I mean, I can barely bring myself to spend over $20 at Value Village! This article by Ashe Mischief was really interesting and made me think about it more. Being in debt is something I never want. My parents live a lifestyle where they only buy things outright, no financing, no loans, no debt. Just saving up and then paying cash. I think that was a really positive influence on me. The issues brought up in the article are really frightening. I cannot even fathom maxing out credit card after credit card. Sure, I'd love to have some gorgeous designer pieces, but the debt I'd go into over it is simply not worth it. I hope you guys don't think you have to have hundreds (or thousands) of dollars a month allocated to purchasing new clothes just to have great style. Pretty much all my favorite bloggers are so down to earth and thrifty and I think that's why I love them. There are a few "high end" bloggers that I visit, but not as frequently. It just doesn't make sense to me. Honestly, even if I was wealthy I still don't think I'd have a closet packed with designer clothes. Maybe here and there, but there's something so rewarding about finding really inexpensive and unique clothes.
Anyway, I hope you guys never feel envious of my wardrobe or feel like you have to go out and buy new clothes all the time. Seriously, just walking into Nordstrom kind of gives me anxiety. I have always wanted a focus of this blog to be that you can have style without maxing out credit cards.
Case in point: Half my outfit today is exactly the same as the one yesterday, haha!

Oh! And super exciting news! I won the Keds/Chictopia contest! I really am so thrilled I can hardly contain myself. I wasn't sure I'd be able to afford going to NYC for next fashion week and now I can! Which means I get to see some of my most favorite blogger friends again (and hopefully meet more blogger friends!). I hope I'll get to go to more fashion shows. I got to see one in February and it was such an inspiring experience. I'd love to see more. Speaking of Keds... I want a pair of these in every color. Too cute!
And! (geez, this day is way too exciting) I'm featured over at Weardrobe today, which is super exciting too! I feel like God is giving me some major encouragement after being so bummed that I didn't get that Winnebago.
One more thing... Yes, I will finally be posting the winner of the KDikio Vintage scarf giveaway later tonight. I'm so behind on things! I always think I'll get it together on the weekends, and yet here I am! Oh well.

OMG! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your hair straight!! I love it curly of course, but it looks so different and I like it! =)
Straight hair makes you look prim and proper but equally gorgeous. Personally I love your curls. You look more mischievous and you definitely rock your curls!
Congrats on being featured on Weardrobe and winning the Chictopia contest.
Love you outfit, looks very cool!
Loads of love!
Wow that's what i call flamboyant hair!! you look like a fox ;) it's gorgeous!
Margaux from BORO
I love your hair straight! But I know what you mean about it feeling weird- my hair rarely curls, and when it does I feel odd.
I also read that same article and I've often wondered how other fashion bloggers can afford to get new clothes all the time. I'm beginning to realize it's probably through sponsors rather than through shopping. I refuse to get into debt to buy new clothes, so I really understand what you mean.

Hi! Been lurking for a bit but had to comment today -
1. Love the straight hair...it's still big and beautiful!
2. Your Weardrobe feature is fierce!
3. I'm totally envious of the inherent coolness that come across in your photos and clothing, but in an inspired type of way. I too wonder how some bloggers wear multiple designer items daily and don't seem to repeat them. I really only follow the more thrifty bloggers b/c they give me the best ideas - and thank you for that. I am much more inspired by bloggers like you who wear more vintage and thrifted items and who remix their outfits. It makes me feel like I can live with what I have and stop yearning for what I can't afford. That being said, I have to share that I bought my first vintage, real designer piece in amazing barely worn condition for $5 at Goodwill this weekend! Been so excited and had to tell someone!
Your hair is still so big when its straight, no worries my friend, I don't think you could ever have flat hair.
naomi.
i really like ur hair straight!!! love the colour too!! I would hate to be in debt too, i wish i could afford designer items but not at the cost of debt!
vicki xo
well I love your hair both ways, but when its straight you seriously look like Zooey Deschanel (with red hair) wow
Don't kid yourself, you can totally rock the straight hair look! You look gorgeous!
Also, I couldn't agree with you more. On a Goodwill budget, I'm blown away by how some bloggers have so many designer outfits.
I just shake my head when someone pays $200 for a pair of jeans. As much as I love clothes, they shouldn't cost an arm and a leg! After all, they're so expendable and your personal style is always subject to change. So why not look chic on a small budget and spend that money on something really important and meaningful (like a Winnebago)?
-Juliette WhereForArtThouRomeo
I just love your attitude about fashion. Its so admirable and really how I hope I seem!
Congrats on that contest! That photo shoot will be so rad!
I love you hair straight, and I love it curly. You probably have the most awesome hair I've seen.
I agree with what you said. I'm a huge "Sale Section" type of gal. It has to be the most amazing thing in the world for me to want to buy it full priced.
you look lovely, and your hair looks amazing! and it´s still so BIG! :D
this is an awesome outfit! Congrats on the days successes :]
You have such a healthy, refreshing, resourceful attitude about being fashionable and spending money, so thanks for that!
As a fellow curly haired lady, I know what you mean about straightening your hair. People always tell me I should try straightening mine (which I actually think is kinda rude, but whatever) but my hair is cut curly, with layers, and doesn't work AT ALL when it's straight. I'm glad you rock the curls; so many of us try to fight them rather than embrace them!
I like your hair both ways but you look soo much like Jenny Lewis in these pics! I think you might be the only other blogger who wears as much plaid as me.
I know first-hand about credit-card debt. I maxed out three cards to pay for school because I could not get a loan one year. I am still paying them off and it was awhile ago, I still have student loans to pay off (after i finally got one) and I am so thankful that I have a full-time job.
PS-Congrats on everything, you deserve it :D
For the record, every time I see that you have updated I read the name of your blog and try to imitate your accent. So cute.
Anyway, I'm really jealous of your hair. Straight or curly it looks great and is "big." I'd kill for big hair.

Don't forget to enter my custom elastic waistband skirt giveaway!
You and me are cut from the same cloth, I have curly crazy bright red hair, but trust me you want to box dye it, (alot less expensive) and invest all your money your saving in a. A color staying conditioner/shampoo and b. YOUR Winnebago! I hope you get it one day hun! And on a second note, I have a style blog too but the last time I was able to afford clothes was 2 months ago (aka no posts or just text posts =(
Good luck and have fun at fashion week next year!

love your blog ;)
Congrats hun! Lo9ve your hair straight and those mocs are kick butt!
Ah, where to start. First off, your hair is still frighteningly, wondrously large even when straightened! And congrats on the Keds win! Now to the main part: fashion and finance. Reading the article really opened my eyes to the dark possibility of debt-- it made me think "are some of my favorite fashion bloggers seriously in debt? How do they do it?" I have to agree with you when my favorite fashion blogs are from people like me, those who bemoan not being able to buy the latest and greatest in style, but managing MORE than nicely with thrifted items and lucky finds. I realized that anyone who would read my blog would notice that I wear the same clothes often (oops). But that's the whole point of being resourceful and having a fashion blog, right? Being creative and sharing it with others.
Aw geez, I typed a whole ton. In my defense, it was because your post really hit a topical and important mark! :)
Toast with Charmalade
You totally rock the straight hair! And could your hair ever be not massive and awesome?! I think not ;)
And I am SO glad you did a post about the 'high end' bloggers as you called them. I have often wondered where that sort of money comes from, the pressure/need to update etc etc. The reason that I visit and really love your blog, and a few others, is because you keep it real! I love seeing how you create a look, sometimes just by changing one or two elements. It's inspiring man, rock on!
awesome outfit! and i love your hair. [[makes me envious everytime haha]]
it kinda reminds me of a volcano when the lava starts to cool for some reason...maybe it's the red? idk. anywoo, your hair looks good straight too! :D
I think your hair looks really cute straight!! Meanwhile, thats the reason I don't get my hair dyed... so much cost and maintenance (plus I'm kinda terrified I might ruin mine forever)
I'm definitely a fan of the curls. Having a big mop of curly hair myself, straightening it is too time-consuming, and with kind of lame results! I used to flat iron bangs for myself and leave the rest curly, and it ended up killing my hair.
Anyway, I do like the color touch up and can't wait to see it curly again!
Also seriously loving those keds. And these (I'm a sucker for bright colors)

wow, your hair looks awesome straight. the remnants of black hair make it look rather feral... like a fox, or a red wolf or something (that's a compliment), and it's still big hair, for sure!
bravo to you for not getting involved with credit cards. my debt is almost entirely travel-related, but it still hurts. thrifting is so much more fun than buying expensive designer clothes (not that i'd really know, i have no basis for comparison...) i can't imagine walking out of a store with one thing after spending hundreds of dollars (or, let's face it... $100)
Your hair looks effing amazing like that. You can really see all the fun color variations. I vote you do the black girl thing and use some creamy crack and get it relaxed for your next move! That'd be kind of fun.
PS: This outfit is adorable. I am dying to play the game of shorts and tights, but I am so completely sans moolah right now.
PSS: I was whining to Shmandrew about how thin and poopy my hair was the other night, and how I would kill to have thick luscious hair like you. He insists that it would look silly on me, but I am of the opinion that every woman looks better with va-va-voom locks. JEALOUS.
Beautiful pictures miss!
Congrats on your win & weardrobe feature :-)
Clothes-wise I have become more extravagant over the years so that where I used to have lots of cheap bits I'd now rather have less in my wardrobe but make sure I love each garment to bits even if a couple are what I'd call pricey (oh that fateful moment a year ago when I first spent a mind bending $90 on a single item. I felt physically sick after the transaction).
When it comes to books I have no spending sense whatsoever but thankfully I don't read fast enough to break the bank. ;-)
Congrats on the contest and feature! Its really uplifting to find bloggers who have a more normal sized clothing budget (or just being on a budget at all really). Sometimes I feel really disheartened seeing all these really beautiful expensive clothes some bloggers wear and while splurging every once in a while is OK in my book, part of the reason I like reading your blog is due to your apparent resourcefulness and of course the style you bring with each post! Thanks :]
I don't like my hair straight either! Everyone else says they love it, but I don't think it's me at all. Your hair is lovely, either way though!
I dyed my hair red last month using Lush's henna dye. It costs me £7.10 (not sure what that is in dollars) and I can dye my whole head of hair about 3 times with one block. Because your hair is so lovely and big you might be able to do the roots a couple of times instead of all of your hair, but seeing as you're already red that wouldn't be a problem.
I love your hair red!
x
There's a Hungarian saying - the brain is the main thing, not the hair. :D
Well, I like both your hair and the way you think, looking forward to new looks and new thoughts from you! :)
I like what you said about spending a lot on clothes - this is the issue that keeps me back from starting a blog. I just can't afford to show a new piece off every day. (Not even every week.) (Maybe not even every month...)
It's great that you made me think how your blog is not about "hey look I just bought this". I look at your blog every day and never get bored. You don't need to flaunt designer items. :)
YOUR HAIR!?
I love it!
INTOTHEFOLDFASHION.BLOGSPOT.COM
First off, let me say that I ADORE your hair! Curly or straight, it is still fabulously fierce and large- I wish my hair had that much personality!
I love that you're so thrifty and conscious of how much you spend on clothes. I've never understood how people can spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on clothes. I'm the kind of girl that make a beeline for the sale rack at any store. I always feel so much more accomplished when I find amazing stuff on super sale or at thrift stores!
Adorable! Your hair looks great curly and straight! & yess I can definitely relate to the whole salon thing. Keeping up with red hair can be a major pain.
If you want to stay a redhead (and not go broke) visit a cosmetology school. The students (at my school anyway) are supervised by instructors, and the prices are very reasonable.
YES i knew you'd win the keds contest! you've got that perfect balance between tomboy and feminine in your style that i totally admire. congrats to the max.
thanks so much for mentioning the issue of debt and buying beyond your means - i think this is a really huge issue in today's youth/fashion culture and for an icon like you to address it will help a lot.
PS adorable outfit, magical location as usual!!
Congrats on the Keds winning/Weardrobe featuring. Your hair looks pretty boss straight, although I think I like the curls more... It's more "you".
First of all, I think your hair looks great straightened but I can understand now wanting to spend so much time doing it constantly. I'm lucky because I have the type of hair that I can just run a comb through and I'm done but when I cut it short and had to straighten it everyday it got tedious.
Also, I totally agree with your stance on designer clothing. I think it's great that there are people out there who can afford it but me being a recent college grad, soon to be working two jobs and living with my parents I know I can't afford to spend $200+ on shoes. I actually work at Nordstrom (in the espresso bar) and I'm still in awe of the store even after walking through there 4 or 5 times a week.
I actually love your hair straight! You can really see the contrast in color more clearly. You're gorgeous either way, of course.
The only designer shoes I have are from 6pm.com, and the most designer I get in terms of bags is the Coach outlet store ^_^ Seriously though? If I was loaded I would probably shop at Nordstroms, as fun as F21 and H&M cheap ass clothes are they always fall apart =/
Woah! Look at that straight hair! And I'm just loving this outfit. Totally going to steal it this weekend.
your hair is gorgeous!
I know you think it looks weird, but your hair is so lovely when it's straightened. It still looks beautiful and voluminous too.
1. your hair is still definitely big even though it is straight! ;)
2. in regards to the finance & fashion blogging article: i had to quit reading fashion toast, sea of shoes, and few other high end bloggers because the jealousy/disdain i felt when i read about their designer closets. i dont mean to drop names, i'm just trying to be honest. i don't think these girls are bad people for having money and i don't even see their blogs as forums in which they flaunt their wealth ... they were just stirring something in me i did not like.
however, i am all about saving up and buying substantial, sustainable fashion rather than cheap, disposable trendy clothes.
3. congratulations on the keds contest! :) :) :)
love the shirt :)
your hair looks great too!
Wow, I think you definitely do rock it. I've decided I love both your hair red and black, but when it's black I prefer it curly, and when it's red I prefer it straight. Either way I'm jealous of your hair.
Cheyne.
I love your hair! It's really funny though, because I'm a natural redhead about to die mine brown.
I'm right there with you, I don't understand how people can max out (several) credit cards and be thousands of dollars in debt just because they want nice material things. I pay off my credit card every month, and always go for the generic or cheap version of EVERYthing... which means buying used furniture off of Craigslist. =P But I figure, if I don't have the money, I don't need it!
Congratulations girl! Your hair looks super fly and I also really revere your style and how it often feel wonderfully free from awfully restricting and fleeting trends. It doesn't feel good to go to a blog that showcases new, designer purchases on every post, but it's lovely to see a fashion blog as modest and beautiful as yours!
xo Jenny
Your hair looks great straightened! It looks really flowy and nice ha.
And that article does bring about a lot of good points. Sometimes I look at bloggers and fall in love with some of their items and it gives me the urge to buy a whole bunch of new things, but once I see the total, I back off as fast as I can! Haha!
It's still pretty, but you can kinda tell your not comfy. I love your curly hair, there is nothing like it. It just looks like a fabulous ball of flame!
my blog: ♥La Stylin Girraffe♥
Congrats on all the good news!! Sounds like an amazing day!
Your hair looks nice straight as well as curly. I have curly hair too and I enjoy having the two looks to be able to play with and people are always so shocked when I straighten my hair. It's a lot of fun turning into a different person at will.
I agree that those Keds are darling. I like the purple pair. i have purple keds right now but they are less classy and more falling apart...oh well...maybe if I get a job this summer :)
Dress Rehearsal
wow loveeeeee the hair, love the photos and love the outfit!! <3
love the hair! it looks beautiful straight.
i look like a total doofus with straight hair, in my opinion. haha, i've always had wavy-curly hair and i'm SO lazy when it comes to styling my hair... i much prefer the whole wash and go, natural method. i'm glad i don't like my hair straight - less work for me! ;) and i love me some big hair. it's the way to go, really. and honestly, i don't truly feel like myself with straight hair. you look so fantastic, but honestly your curls are the coolest :)
i think this is why i love bloggers like you and tieka, because you girls are way more relatable. i mean, sure, a pair of miu miu heels would look great on my feet ;), i would love to own a chanel or marc jacobs dress (or two), and i loooove seeing what major designers are accomplishing in the fashion world. but really, i would NEVER want to have a closet full of overpriced clothing... i would feel SO guilty, you know? why not buy more vintage, or from lesser known but crazy talented designers, and use the rest of that money for a great cause, or save it for your future? there is so much tragedy in the world and i would feel awful if i only indulged in my own selfishness. i LOVE clothes and putting together fun outfits, i always have... but there are less expensive, better ways to do it! and i'm so glad there are girls like you blogging, because you prove this point so well. so thank you!
congratulations on everything! SO exciting, you deserve it. aahh, i love when god sends us little reminders of his love that totally uplifts us. mmmm, so good. :)
Looking' very Jenny Lewis! :) Love this post by the way. It is kinda annoying to love an outfit on some bloggers pages and realized they spent over $500 on it (and more, blerg). I mean cool for you but, yeah I'd rather spend money on music, trips, movies or school or something. ;)
Your hair is amazing. I'm missing my Minnetonka mocs. I had to through mine away after seven years of hard wear and tear.
Lulu Letty
You should try an at-home dye job! I love your hair straight even if you don't, and trust me, it's big even straight! So no worries!
i personally love your curls, they're just- you.
and i'd have to agree with you, i really enjoy bloggers with a more realistic sense of style than designer everything. it makes me respect them more for spending less and still looking amazing :) (like yourself)
i really like your change of hair to straight.
You are so right about designer duds! I'll admit...I love me a good pair of jeffrey Campbells, but I definitely try to offset the cost a splurge either by cleaning my closet and selling clothes at the clothing exchange, and maintain a wardrobe that it 50-75% thriftes or vintage. I agree...a lot of my fav blogs are girls that remix and dress remarkably on a budget!
loving ur hair straight like this! u look great!:)
TheOwlsCloset.blogspot.com
I love this outfit! So cute - and the tights are definitely awesome.
And a warning about your hair: I completely agree about salons - I dye my own hair every month for much cheaper than a professional dye job, but you may want to go to a salon to get the red out of your hair. I had my hair a dark red for a while, and then tried to go brown... and ended up orange! I ended up having to go to a professional to get it bleached and re-dyed anyway, and she told me red is a *really* hard color to dye over. You have to be really careful about what color you choose, cuz it can cause some funky messes.
Good luck, though, and congrats on all of the awesomeness of today!!!
http://locatingmyself.wordpress.com
WOW!!!
U look amazing <3
I do love the straight hair, but I can see how it can be a pain in the butt, you've got so much to do! Even straight it looks thick and big.
Also I've noticed that you wear certain items more than once, but I'm always happy to see how differently you'll try and style them. It's inspiring because it encourages me not to buy more clothes but to reinvent my old ones.
This outfit is so adorable! love the hair as well
Even if I don't know you as a person at all, I'd say that curled hair suits you and your character better than straightened hair ;)
Oh and I totally agree on the cheap clothes issue! I find it much more satisfying to find a superpretty floral skirt for 2 bucks on the flea market than to go in a couture store and pay 200 for a similar one. I've enver understood people who spend so much money for only one piece when you can get ten pieces for the same money somewhere else.
Hooray for vintage and thrift shopping! Cheap is chic :)
Congrats to winning the Keds contest! And to the weardrobe feature! Weardrobe didn't even let me upload my photos at all cause they're too bad, but at least I can watch photos of others :)
I completely agree! I don't know how people afford so many designer clothes! I usually feel like anything over $10 is kind of expensive! It's so much more fun (and eco friendly) to shop at thift stores.
I think your inexpensive outfit looks great! And your hair looks wonderful too!
Congrats on being featured on Weardrobe and winning the Chictopia contest!
Nooooooo don't lose the hair! Well you know what I mean. But it so stupidly awesome, like a high fashion lion's mane with the two tone and the volume. Big hair rules.
Regardless of the curls, I think you've still got big hair and are able to rock the straight-ness. :)
But I know what you mean. Last week I had my hair straight for about 3 days and I felt like another person! I never realized how much my hair defines my personality until I change it.
So cute ♥ however your hair looks.
Though I looove your big curls, I think you are definetly ROCKING the straight hair. =)
Funny you should mention the whole spending endless of money to be "in style", because I was just thinking the other day that one of the reasons I prefer your blog is because it is affordable yet gorgeous fashion!!
I really like your hair straight!! I am the same way with my hair, it's not quite as curly as yours but it is very wavy and takes FOREVER to straighten it.
As far as expensive clothes, I am a thrift store/clearence section shopper all the way! I would LOVE something designer but like u said $300 for a pair of shoes? No way, I could get racks of clothes for that amount on a clearence rack!
God you have amazing hair. I'd pay big bucks for that shit! (Or not shit, you know what I mean.)
For all the comments who have said that they've spent too much money at 1 time in their life, there are just as many who have that grounded head like you do. It makes me ecstatic to read... I was doing some follow-up post research, that said something like 5% of Americans have shopping addictions. That's like 15 million people. Insane.
You look very pretty in straight hair but your big hair is more you. It feels so reassuring to know that it does not make sense to you to buy plenty of designer items just because you can. I get a panic attack every time |I see a blogger like that and think I will never measure up to that. But it's girls like you who keep me going.
Love
Love everything about this post! Your hair looks amazing, but I really do love your curls more! They are so you! I know what you mean about touching up roots and how expensive it can get! Hence, my crazy ombre hair! And... I'm so excited about your winning the contest so I can see you in NYC again! We should maybe make arrangements again to stay together! Anndddd congrats on Weardrobe! Every time I see a Winnebago for sale, I think of you! <3
I love your hair straight! Especially with the red, it looks soo good, but of course, I always love the curls, it fits your style so well. And congrats on winning the Chictopia contest and the Weardrobe feature, you deserve it! And I totally agree with you about the designer duds. If I spend more than $20-30 on one item of clothing, I feel like I'm gonna be sick, and I think you've got some pretty fantastic thrifty style, girl.
I think your hair looks lovely straight, but I completely understand what a massive undertaking it would be to get it like that!
I read that article before you mentioned it. It is scary the idea of being feeling so under presure. Thats not a true reflection of style. True style should not depend on money and constant new designer clothing.
It definitely works straight but the curls look more.. I'm not sure I can put my finger on it. I guess I just have the 'big hair' bug too!
I have to agree about the money issues also, debt is a horrid thing: I've been avoiding credit cards and loans etc as much as I possibly can..
As for clothing expenses, I'd love to throw more money away on them but when it comes down to it I just have too many other priorities -- & I think it's easier as a guy to wing it without such an an over-exploding wardrobe! --
Plus I'm a big supporter of the Eco and Sustainable fashion movements, so a more thrifty approach always wins in my book *nods* x
FASHION WAIF
how exciting that you won the keds contest. I am glad it was you! Congrats!
I'm with you on the money thing too. It took me so long to finally break down and get a credit card to use to built credit... but I still don't put anything on it that I can't afford to pay off immediately. I don't ever want to be in debt. Even if I could afford $400 shoes I could never bring myself to buy them. There are so many better things I could spend my money on.
Your hair straight seems more sophisticated, more of a blank canvas for your outfits. You look beautiful, but I definitely love your curls - they add just that extra 'spunk' (I hate that word, but still.)
I meant to comment on this a few days ago...better late than never, right?! Anyway, I really appreciate what you said about encouraging your followers to not be envious of your wardrobe. When I first starting following style blogs, I had a hard time controlling my spending at Salvation Army and Urban Outfitters sales alike. On one hand, it was great- I was trying new things that I wouldn't normally go for, but on the other hand, it was obscenely excessive. I was going to the thrift store at least once a week in attempts to fulfill my clothing lust. Yet, I have items I bought months ago that I still haven't worn! I grew quite remorseful. I had always been a savvy spender and while I was still shopping cheap, it was adding up-fast. Though I haven't gone into debt or anything, I still felt shameful for spending so much time and money on myself for things I didn't need. So again, I thank you for using your online space as a source of positive encouragement to your readers!
I agree with the debt thing, my parents are the same and it has rubbed off on me in the same way...If I can't afford something then I do not buy it. I will save or find a cheaper alternative. I also find that always popping in and out of charity shops is what really gives my outfit a unique twist. Must always get rid of that funny foisty smell some of them seem to have though !
when i get my curly hair straightened, i don't feel like myself too..i feel like i've lost my personality..hehe.
on another note, i do sometimes envy those girls wearing designer labels on their blogs..i honestly cannot afford them..my parents instilled a 'saving' habit on us...and i am proud to say that i never owned a credit card and still don't. fashion should never be about designer labels alone...
ps. congrats on winning the keds contest!

I really love this outfit!! Would you mind if I featured it in my blog as a great usage of plaid for an upcoming post? I'm planning on showcasing other bloggers plaid/madras outfits as well. Send me an email at: likesquarepolkadots@gmail.com for any questions/concerns!
