Wow, I have so many photos to share with you guys! This weekend in Talkeetna was the best time I've had in so long. I hope to go up there almost every weekend, which will cost some money in gas, but so worth it. I feel like I need to get used to being around real live people again. I literally felt socially "out of shape." I'm so used to just being alone and dealing with myself that being around people was actually somewhat unnatural. I'm like, "what? I actually have to deal with social situations and emotions, etc?" Haha. I'm going to try and put myself out there more this summer. Get back into being a normal sociable human being, you know? I figure it's probably good to reacquire some social skills.

I found these shoes in my old closet. I remember buying them many many years ago and then I started disliking them and then forgot I even had them. I like discovering old things in my closet. It still think they're kinda tacky, but I like them and their bright green color. Plus, they're pretty comfortable. I'm not usually a fan of big, chunky heels, but for some reason I don't mind these.

I actually kind of wish I was living in Talkeetna this summer. Being up there just made me feel like I could breathe freely. I mean, living in Alaska in general is like that, but living in such a small town with such a close little community would be so refreshing. Plus, you wouldn't believe how incredible the view is up there. I guess I'll have to be content with weekend visits.

What awesome photos. Seriously each one looks like it could be an album cover for a singer. Love your glasses & your shoes! It's good to get back out there in the social scene! I wish you all the luck!
These photos are so fun -- glad you had a great weekend!
I love your vibrant top and those shoes! I swooned.
I adore these, they are fabulous.

this is so great, I love that skirt so much! I'm glad you had a refreshing weekend :]
the colors in this outfit are very lovely!
i was never a social butterfly and i'm quite shy at times, so i know how it feels to go out there and try acquiring some social skills.
best of luck :)
Nice pics, lovely outfit!
I love the naturally curly bangs you're rocking!
The thing you mentioned about being social again? I know exactly what you're talking about! I'm going through it right now!
One more thing, I think your heels are delightfully tacky ;)
I totally understand how you feel on that how trying to be social again! School seems to sap away any social skills I had, so come summer, it's like I have to get readjusted to normal people and situations again!
I love the look, the heels rock, I kind of want purple ones like that. My friend has a female doggie just like yours, only hers is deaf, she was a resure dog and her name is Sophia Loren :D
PS I hope you post some pics soon, I really want to go to Alaska some day and I love all of your pics!
Glad you had a nice time! You look lovely. That skirt is so cute :)

that skirt is the cutest! i know what you mean about feeling "socially out of shape." Winter always turns me into a hermit too, all that snow and cold weather, you just wanna stay inside and curl up by the fire.
with love,

My social skills atrophy every winter. There is something about lack of light that makes me disappear into myself. Thank goodness it is spring!
Finding forgotten clothes is always a treat. Those sandals fit your outfit perfectly :-)
I know what you mean about social awkwardness... thats pretty much me in general hahaha.
You're an interesting person kid, you'll be fine!
Sometimes I find myself in groups of strangers and my inner dialogue ranges from blank (i'm not too good at the small talk) to 'is anyone else going to get dessert?'. Haha!!!
The skirt and the shoes are great!
You make Alaska sound like a dream - especially for a girl in the United Kingdom. I really want to pay a visit to AK one day! I really love this outfit, Elizabeth. The corals & the greens pop & go so well together. & you have your springy curly hair back!
I love this outfit!!
You look fab.
I love the shoes! Yes they're tacky, but in a really good way! Would it be corny for me to say they're DELIGHTFULLY tacky? Yes? I thought so.
Getting back into socializing can be a little weird, but it's easy enough once you start! :D
glad you had fun! you deserve it. I hope you get to visit a lot throughout the summer. can you take photos of the view next time? :)
love your shoes, great color
I think your shoes are real cute.
i love the shoes. its not to often that you see neon shaded pumps.. at least where i live

really love those green shoes. do not throw them out, they're awesome!
It's true! finding stuff in your closet that you've forgotten is the best.
I really like your skirt with the bow.
seriously awesome shoes. those will be fantastic for summer! good job on digging them out of the closet.
i know what you mean about being socially out of shape, i felt like that when i came back from traveling. i was like "what? i'm actually around people who know me really well and want to talk about my day? WTF." glad to hear your trip went well and you got to exercise those socializing muscles!
These pictures are great, as always. I'm really loving that skirt!
And I SO know what you mean about feeling socially awkward. I've been out of school for awhile now, so I haven't had an excuse to meet new people for a few years; I'm getting rusty!
It looks so beautiful there, glad you had a fun weekend! Your pictures are always so so good. Glad you found these shoes too, what treasures. They are amazing, oh Elizabeth...you are very 'delightful' :)
Great outfit! I loved the colors :)
Lemme know if you have any tips for re-aquiring social skills... lol... I should probably work on that too!
Is your dog a Jack? I have a smooth coat long-legged Jack, love them!
Great photos! I like your outfit and your pup! He is adorable!
Love your floral top! Seems like you had a great weekend -- if you really want to move, you should just go for it!
Chic on the Cheap
the shoes are THE perfect touch! :)
I think that I would like to go to Alaska. Being from Northern British Columbia, I think I would feel at home!

love the shoes!!
Everytime I come to your page I miss home. I agree, the whole state is a breathe easier type of place. But small towns like Talkeetna, Seward, Kenai etc....it is a bit nicer I want to say. I long for a good Alaskan summer. Lucky for me the Belgian summer can be similar to Alaska so it lessens the impact of the homesickness. I actually agree the green shoes are a bit tacky. But they are a good tacky. Make sense? I hope so.
The last picture is so wonderful. You should do a post on photography tips & tricks!
Your posts are always such a pleasure to read :o)
And both you and the landscape always look so gorgeous. Really love the colours here..and actually adore those shoes! I could really do with getting away for a bit and gallivanting with friends.
That's why I HATE throwing clothes away, giving them away, etc. I usually end up glad I kept them five years later. Haha. Probably a terrible habit.
I think this is my favorite outfit of yours so far :) I actually love those shoes - this is why I am such a pack rat because I end up loving my older pieces again years later lol.
xoxo Maria
