So since I did my post on pants, I have been looking around the internet for pants inspirations. I used to have these amazing old mens pants that I'm kicking myself now for getting rid of (though they may still be hiding in storage in Washington). I had a photo of them too, which I'm sure is lost forever. Pants are so difficult for me to wear because of my more generous lower portion. I feel like most pants were made for girls with no ass and I certainly do not belong to that sect of the population. For the longest time I've tried to find the perfect pair of pants, and I think I need to return to thrift stores for this quest. This is my next project: find great pants. learn how to style them.

Oh I like the second ones!!!
xoxo,

Pants are so hard to find I have been on the look out for a great pair of tailored harem trousers for about a month now I am starting to give up hope. xoxo
the brown ones look great
I was watching the Barbara Walter's pre-Oscar special, and I do believe Helen Mirren summed up my pants perspective the best: "I don't wear trousers because I have an awfully round bum." Skirts and dresses just look better on us "round bummed" girls!
Pants are tough - I just found a great pair of (very forgiving) harem pants at Anthro on sale from $98 to...$10 (psst...Style of a Fashionista). I think that the harem style of pant works for most body types. Good luck on your hunt!

All these ladies pull of pants so well. I wish I would look like this wearing pants. I agree with you 100% I really think most pants were made for people with not such a generous bottom.

Thrifted old dress pants tend to fit better-higher waisted, more pleats, more 'allowance' round the hips and buttocks. Get in there and try on any pair that takes your fancy. A long process but it's worth it when you find 'The Ones.'
THis is definitely one of my weaknesses too. All I know how to pull off right now is jeans and a t-shirt, so I'm excited to see what you come up with!

i love your style. simple & chic
ah, I am in the same boat my friend. I love all the high waisted baggy styles out there but few are made for ladies with hips and ass. The search continues...
Fab inspiration...I never wear trousers...I would like to however!
Let me know when you find these pants you speak of.
Sincerely,
Liz & her big ass
I am loving the look on the gal with the pug. Unfortunately for me, I am way to short to be able to pull off that slouchy men's pants look.
I could definitely envision you rocking something like that, though.
i know exactly what you mean, it's impossible for me to find pants that look right because most pants are made for girls without a booty and i am not one of those girls. then even when i do find pants i like, i have the same dilemma, i have no idea how to style them! good luck to you on your search.
I'm also on a quest to bring a pair of pants back into my life. I ended up buying a pair at the thrift store that look killer through the waist but have weird legs. Legs are easy enough to alter. It's finding stuff that fits through the waist that is the trick.
i don't know if they have one in alaska, but zara all the way. they have a lot of good trousers.
and also, i totally remixed that outfit today!
HUH. Maybe it's because I'm on the smaller side, but I feel like ALL pants are made for girls with asses! =]
I really hope you find a good pair of pants, though. We all need to.
I too have a problem with pants...or perhaps more accurately, my ass has a problem with pants. It's the most consistently well reviewed part of my body but does not like being confined, hence all the skirts/dresses.
I just personified my butt, yes. I apologize.
I'm sure there's a pair out there for you somewhere <3 Plus, it seems like you have great inspiration in those photos to help you search!
LOL I am also a girl with "an ass". Ever since this "Low-rise" phenomenon, I have a plumber's crack. I hope you find some great pants and share :)
Good luck, lady--with some patience, you'll find them in the end.
Love these looks!
ive got a huge butt and i've been trying to do "pants posts" lately and posting inspiration for outfits. i know what you mean though. its like pants are made for girls built like boys...infuriating!
i have the exact same goal. find awesome pants. wear them.
I know what you mean about pants. I found an amazing pair of pants at anchor blue, called "Jasmin", they also have a pair called "Iris", they fit well a girl with curves, its worth a look. And they are pretty cheap.
i too, am looking for a great pair of high waist, tapered leg trousers...i will never give up!
and guess what...i have a booty too...so i totally get ya. ;)

see now, i'm just the opposite. stuck in a pants rut and trying to find inspiration for skirts. just stocked up on some though!! I love the CaliVintage look you have, very Parisian, she's always reminded me a bit of Amelie though. Looking foreward to what you come up with!

I wish I could wear pants half as well as these chicks & you - I feel like all I can do well is jeans. This post has given me a few inspiring ideas though :]
I have the hardest time with pants! I just always look so dumpy and chubby in them. I wish I had a stylist to help me figure it out.
I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair of pants lately. I think you might have something to do with that.
i too wish i could wear trousers! i just end up buying jeans (esp skinny ones) whenever i have the time to shop!

I'm sad to say that I, too, am not a pants person due to my generous bottom half! If you ever find that perfect pair, let me know! Thanks for the response about the camera.

I want to find a good pair of trousers too! Hopefully someday I'll have a good collection of them.
I've seriously been feeling the exact same way lately! I've seen so many girls looking cute in pants, and a lighter color like a khaki or pastel seems perfect for spring. I've had no luck online shopping or at thrift stores so far! Here's to hoping you have better luck than me. And maybe send me an extra pair if you really luck out? Haha.
Calivintage's head-to-toe look is definitely what I see when I close my eyes and imagine myself wearing some cuffed and pegged pants. so totally and fabulously chic.
I got a cute pair of paperbag waisted pants from Zara for a good price. Might be worth checking out. Good luck!!
