The snow is slowly melting. I saw grass today! But I still got snow all in my boots walking to my photo spot. I cannot wait until I can traipse all around taking pictures wherever I want and not have to worry about wading through snow. Speaking of weather warming up, my hair is up! That's how you know the seasons are changing. My head blanket keeps me warm all winter so I refrain from styling it, but I'm so looking forward to my hair being more than just a functional-scarf-substitute.
In other news: Jeans?(!)

jeans/paris blues from ross :: top/urban outfitters :: boots + cardigan/target :: scarf/pashmina

Speaking of fidgeting, does anyone else have hair-unrest? I think it has something to do with spring-time and the changing of the seasons. The rest of the natural world is transforming, and I want to change too! We'll see what all that results in. I hate making appointments (which is why I usually do my own hair), but I'm not really in the mood to do my own hair this time. Who knows, maybe this weekend is the time for change!

35 musings:
Beautiful photos as always, and have you tried a primer for your lipstick? Sally Hansen's Sealed with a Kiss is only $5 and it helps mine stay put even though I'm quite the fidgeter also.
you and julie of orchid grey definitely share the top spot for best hair in blogworld! 'm sure whatever you decide to do will look beautiful!
I love that scarf, it is so pretty. And it's really nice to see you in some pants too, much less jeans! Looks good!
I am hopeless when it comes to lipstick too. The only time I would/could ever wear lipstick before was at work because I was too busy too fidget.
haha, a cone of shame. I would pretty much die if I saw a person wearing one of those. I pretty much lost it when our pup hurt his paw and had to wear one. Also--I am definitely feeling a change in need for my hair, but I want to grow it out! I had let it grow for two years for my wedding, and then after the wedding, cut it past my shoulders...and have been regretting it since! Maybe I'll add a little color to ease the desire....
Ive definately had hair unrest! I went and got it snipped up today... still not sure how I feel about it, but i think it just takes a little getting used to! (hopefully) :)
You look adorable.
ps; Last night I went thrifting and came across this fantastic baton twirler letterman jacket from Anchorage, Alaska and I thought of you. Ha. It was super cute and even had the girls name {Colleen} it belonged to patched on the side but it was too big on me :(
YOU'RE WEARING JEANSSSSSSSS. Haha. I heart your everyday skirt outfits, but this is new and I like it just as much! :P
Loves,
-S.
Your photos are great. You look so different with your hair up, and I love the lipstick you're wearing! You look great!
Love this outfit, you look both laid back and extremely chich!
I definitely have hair unrest, my hair is driving my crazy right now!! I want it cut, but I haven't had the time to even think about it.
I love this outfit, very laid back and cool. And I like the scarf a lot :D
Lovely photos as always, you have beautiful hair can't wait to see what the new look will be! I change my hair too lol like every 4 months, i dye it all the time. I'm currently brownish blond lol. I want to try something else :/
the light in these photos is just beautiful!
i love the photo of you through the truck window! very clever :)
the lipstick looks really good on you! and i love your hair like this. it looks great! you should definitely post pictures if you end up changing up your hair. we'd all love to see!

love your green scarf
I'm feeling the same hair dissatisfaction as well. I've been looking for different tools — like hot rollers — to give me the feel of a different style w/o loosing my length. Good luck with your own hair dilemma!
I totally fidget all day at work too - and why can't they make an eyeliner that doesn't end up giving you raccoon-eyes by the end of the work day? I can't seem to make it stick...
Speaking of lipstick colors... have you ever read "Cherries in the Snow" by Emma Forrest? It's a wonderful book - kind of weird, but pretty awesome. The title comes from the name of the oh-so-popular red lipstick by Revlon (the girl in the story comes up with all the crazy names for a makeup company, and she's jealous that Revlon came up with the best lipstick color name ever). :)
This outfit is so cute and the photos are beautiful! I love your hair up! It looks so cute in a top knot!
I love your hair up like that and the scarf is beautiful! Such a lovely, warm look.
Ever try lip stain? The downside to it is if you don't like it it's there to stay for at least a day.
It's funny you should mention "hair unrest". I've been going crazy with mine lately and thinking I should cut it all off, but then I remember that I do that EVERY spring and end up hating it, then growing it out in the fall. Never satisfied.
I love your photos every time I look at your blog. Every one of them is just so pretty.
As for hair unrest, that's too true. And I really admire that you can cut your own hair, since it looks so great all the time. I've got pretty big hair myself, so I've been a little nervous about venturing into the "cut my hari myself" world. Do you have any tips?
Your photos are so gorgeous! And what a fantastic scarf. I completely adore your blog :) I can't wait to see your warm weather outfits!
I love how casual and cool this outfit is! I especially love how the truck in the photos look :]
I love your hair up! Lipstick is THE BEST THING EVER. I don't mess with my mouth, but I do mess with my eyes, which is a terribly gross habit and, as you say, results in less-than-perfect make-up. Sigh sigh sigh.
I love your photos and that scarf is gorgeous =) I love short hair, but you have gorgeous long hair.
Hannah,
As far as cutting ones own hair goes... I don't know if I'd recommend it for anyone with straight hair. I think maybe I get away with it because my hair is so curly that you can't notice any unevenness. But other than that, just make sure you get things the same length on both sides (unless you're going for asymmetry). I really don't have much of a technique. It's hard to describe. I like cutting my own hair though!
You look so, so gorgeous! And that scarf is amazing.
I like this ensemble.
Hi sweetie, I'm new here British blogger comming through! I adore the your huge mossy green scarf a perfect foil against your lip and the snow! You have a really interesting view, for someone who blogs on style, i.e disliking writting on trends and runway. I guess your quite down to earth re style. Keeping it real, my day job is styling real women! So I hope my blog reflects this down to earth approach too, however I confess to love the fantasy of the runway! Sharon xx
How do you manage to look so (effortlessly) posed in these pictures that you take yourself? Whenever I try that with the 10 second timer I look rushed and flustered! I guess it just comes naturally to you. You look wonderful! I, too, am a victim of unrestful hair. I'm down to faux-hawk length at the moment, which I'm very much enjoying! I'm definitely a short-hair type. Super jealous of your big hair, it's simply fantastic!
First of all, I am IN LOVE with your lipstick shade.
Secondly ... I know EXACTLY what you mean by wanting to switch it up with your hair ... every spring I toy with the idea of dousing my head in peroxide and going by favored platinum blonde route again, but since I've been 'a la naturale' for almost two years now with my dirty blonde locks, I always seem to stop myself in the end.
Can't wait to see if you brave the change ...
~BB
you look beautiful!
I definitely have hair-unrest right now. I keep thinking about cutting it all off, but then I remember how long it took to grow out... last night I had a dream I shaved my head. it was scary.
I saw this on the Chictopia tumblr and gasped. I LOVE these photos - some of my favorites! You look so amazing! I love your hair up!
These pictures are just super awesomeeeeeee! :)
