Night Owl

I'm being forced to be patient with the Brave situation. So far I haven't been able to get in contact with him to go look at it. I suppose that's kind of good, since I can't see it until Friday anyway, what with 10 hour days at work. If I do get this one, it's already teaching me life lessons. I don't really like making big huge elaborate plans. I'm pretty spur-of-the-moment. If I decide to do something, I like to be able to just get it done and over with, no dilly-dallying. This is probably one part of why I cut my own hair. I don't like having to wait for an appointment, I just like to cut it when I want it cut. While I think this spontaneous nature is a good thing, it's also probably good to have some ability to plan out stuff and/or be able to wait for things to happen, rather than try to make them happen immediately all the time.

Getting dressed for work has been interesting. I keep picking out outfits the night before, but then I wake up and feel like wearing something totally different. Mostly because I don't pick out the outfit based on the fact that I'll be sitting in front of a computer for 10 hours. Then I'm stuck trying to chose clothes in a 6 am haze of half sleep. Honestly, I should probably not do anything that requires cognition before the age of 10 am, so creating any sort of decent outfit at 6 am kind of amazes me. I'm so not a morning person. What about you guys? Are you morning people or night owls? I feel like I physically cannot fall asleep before midnight!

Oh, and I thought I'd show you guys a brand new site (though I'm sure many are already aware of it): Couturious! It's really fun. You get to put together outfits using a bunch of gorgeous designer clothes and then post your outfits! It can get addicting, though. Once I start making outfits, I get ideas for other outfits and then it just snowballs! I definitely don't need another website to spend my time on, but it's a really cool interactive site. My favorite part is that it gives you different options of how to wear one item. Like a top can be worn over or under a skirt. Or a jacket can be worn closed or open. Pretty fancy. Anyway, you guys should hop over and take a look. You can check out my looks here.

I am definitely a night owl. I don't think I have gone to sleep earlier than 3am in months!
I love your top, by the way!

I think, for me, it depends on what I have to wake up for. I can stay up really late, then wake up early if need be, or I can sleep all day and be awake all night. In all honesty, though, it doesn't matter what time I wake up, I still need like 45 minutes before my brain starts functioning correctly, and I'm no longer crabby.

Night owl but oh, I love sleep so much. I guess if I sleep in late and wake up to birds chirping and the smell of pancakes and bacon then I'd be a morning person, but no such luck.I love your tights, by the way.

I don't think anyone who have ever met me for more than 5 seconds would mistake me for a morning person haha. Getting to bed at 12 is usually quite the accomplishment for me :)

I am a rare morning person! People always think I'm crazy! But, like you, I have an internal clock, and my alarm goes off around 5:30 or 6:00am. It's so lame when I want to sleep in...

I LOVE your outfit today! So sweet, but not too sweet :)

That Polaroid pendant is adorable! So retro and a perfect accessory-choice.

The Polaroid company stopped making those cameras and the special film for them, but a few enthusiasts are trying to manufacture their own film for existing cameras. I love that kind of devotion to old technology. Then again, I still listen to vinyl records!

I love that top! The zipper definitely makes it stand out.

I'm definitely a night owl, where going to bed at midnight is deemed "early" for me. I still generally don't drink coffee, though.

Coutourious sounds fun! I love the crem and white combo. Who knew that it could look good!? I always figured it clashed! Thanks for proving me wrong!

I admire your spontaneity, but you're totally opposite of me. I like having an idea of what is going on in the future, sure that idea doesn't always pan out, but the idea of a full day with absolutely nothing to do scares me. I get bored so easily, I need to make sure that something will happen. I do appreciate spontaneous occurences, but maybe it is just college age kids, but most of the time spontaneous here means flake out haha

I am a morning person. I seem to be most productive at that time of day, but being in college now it is hard to get up early haha

I allllways pick outfits the night before. Makes me feel calm and zen and all. I love your combos of whites. White scares me. I feel like the day I wear white will be the day I spill a huge glob of ketchup on myself.

I think I'm both a morning person and a night owl. If I have to wake up early, I can do it with no problem, but I prefer to sleep in. I'm usually more inspired to do creative things at night, though. xo

I am a total night owl. I get that from my truck drivin' grandpa :o) For the last two semesters of class, I had to take an 8am class (there was no way around it...it's a private school with limited schedule options). 3 days a week, I was a total zombie.

However, I do love the feel of mornings..and the amazing sunlight. If I could choose, I would probably be a morning person. I think you get more done, and insomnia is no fun.

Hey I am loving your top, really cool. I need to try some patterned tights at work, you are inspiring to me because you wear them very nice for work. Gives me modivation.

I am a night owl being forced to be a morning bird. I work from 7:30am to 4pm m-. But I don't got to sleep until 12am.

Cute Outfit! After reading 'khola's comment I realized that I don't think I've ever seen you in a post with pants! LOL! I don't know how you do it, I live in Wisconsin and I am afraid to wear skirts and dresses in winter because I hate being cold, but your in ALASKA and it's gotta be colder up there! LOL you give me courage, I think I am going to put together an outfit around a skirt for this weekend!

I definitely feel you on the non-morning person thing. I think its cruel that we have to be roused by a rude alarm and be up at such ungodly hours just to make a living.
Also, I love your skirt toooo mucho.

i love the mix of colours and fabrics :) fabulous outfit as always! Can i ask a question? who takes your photos? You said in your last post that you took some photos round your work, have you a tripod? I hate people seeing me taking photos do you ever get concious of that?

I'm the same way as you, I'm a night owl and try to pick out my clothing at night for the next day knowing at 6:00am I can't function. However I always change my mind and get stuck in somthing that is subpar... I need to focus early in the morning as all my colleagues work in Belgium and have been in the office 6 hours ahead of me waiting for me to get to work.

I'm also like you in the fact I hate waiting for things, I like to just get something done. Something I'm trying to be more comfortable with.

I love this look however I could see it being very comfortable to sit in for hours! Very cute!

I love this outfit! The zipper detail on that shirt is amazing. I'm definitely a night owl, but thankfully once I actually get up and start moving in the morning... I'm ok. :)

Well I used to be a morning person, but now that I also work longer days I just dread going to work in the early hours of the morning. But I still put together my looks at 630 in the morning.

Great outfit, as always! I am definitely a night owl - I can stay up late if I need to, but I HATE waking up early. I've been working 13+ hour work days including weekends, so I feel your pain.

I want to have a little more fun with my work clothes, but I feel like its a hard step to take because everyone here dresses so conservatively and I don't want to create a bad image for myself. What is your office culture like? Do you feel like it is affecting how you dress?

When I was working I stuck to a standard uniform of tees and cardis. The most adventurous I ever got at 6am was swapping the cami for a blazer so kudos to you for coming up with something so cute so early in the day!

Good luck with the Brave! It's my dream (one of them, anyway) to drive across the country in a Winnebago. Not entirely sure my bf will be up for the trek though, as he already did it once moving from AK to Maine. :)

I have the EXACT same problem as you! Tons of pretty outfits dancing in my head the night before, but once my alarm goes off I'm a total zombie... and most mornings my outfits are a reflection of that. UGH. I feel your pain!

I used to work ten to twelve hours days at a job I had straight out of college and it was difficult to find the energy to get dressed! But it was also in some ways the most pleasurable part of getting dressed. I think you look fantastic, especially that zippered top and those great boots!
