Paint it Black

Kind of similar to yesterday, eh? I thought I'd take that look and make it even more casual. I've been feeling anti-color lately. I like the simplicity of black. As I'm sure you all know, I have no qualms with wearing overloads of color.

Today I miss my friends. I have zero friends in this town. Zero. I'm dead serious, too. Sometimes people say that for hyperbolic effect. The only people I know here beyond my family are coworkers. All I want to do is party all night and laugh constantly. Instead: bored and lonely. There aren't even any movies I want to go to. I thought about doing the whole Twilight thing, just because it looks like an entertaining movie, but I just don't feel like it tonight.

I just learned that the Cold War Kids are coming to Anchorage in Feb. Damn! I will be gone by then. Way to go, Alaska. Bring a great band after I leave. I see how it is. Living in Alaska is definitely not for people who enjoy live music. There are some good local bands, but if you want to see a more popular band from the lower 48, you can pretty much forget it. I don't think I saw a non-local band's concert until I moved to WA. I remember my freshman year of college I went to a Yellowcard concert even though I didn't even like Yellowcard just because I'd never been to a concert before. I can't even believe I went to that concert because I pretty much loathe Yellowcard, haha! I still haven't gone to many concerts because I'm so damn frugal. It would be fun to go to Sasquatch or one of those big music festivals at the Gorge in central Wa, but I never ended up doing it.

I think my favorite concerts ever (not counting local bands/friends' bands) are Against Me! in Seattle and David Bazan in Spokane. We were going to see The Thermals in Spokane once but my friends took too long pre-funking and it sold out. I'm still totally bummed. I also missed Neil Diamond in Spokane once. And Van Halen! UGH! I really need to reevaluate what's important in my life, because those concerts should really be on the priority list.

David Bazan @ Empyrean in Spokane (I think I was sitting down in the front)
The first is my favorite song:

I like it. Super casual yet slick and pretty.

And it sucks that you have no friends to party and laugh with. BUT you do have the internet, it's got all the weird porn you require to fill a night!

With this outfit, you look like a homegrown kiwi chick! If you ever decide you feel the need to pop over to New Zealand, pack this ensemble...it's wicked!

Yeah, I have zero friends too. Not in a "I'm-lying-to-commiserate-with-you" kind of way. In a zero friends kind of way. So I understand. On a less lame note, I LOVE those boots!

I like your moody outfit today. I'm so used to you throwing up patterns. At any rate, you do both very well.

Sorry 'bout Alaska. She's such a bitch. You want me to punch her?

I can totally sympathize with feeling lonely, my husband & I moved here in June and haven't made too many friends yet. I hope you feel better soon!

I love you in both black and color.. you can pull anything off. And I totally know what you mean about not having friends. I have absolutely 0 friends in our town.. my closest friend is an hour and a half away, which isn't terrible.. but I mean, still!

I love all black outfits...and all of the textures in yours make it so interesting!

We saw Against Me! two years ago, and it was an incredible and energetic show! I hope you are feeling better soon...we just moved to Nashville not too long ago, and I found that it is so much more difficult to make new friends as an adult. I still find myself bored far too often.

Pedro the Lion is one of my favorites...and Against Me! is def on my list. It's also my bf's favorite band after Thrice, so I hope we can catch them soon.

That said, I know what you mean about the friends thing...all of my friends are far far away and I find that it's always school work or the bf on a friday night (which is great! but not always what I need). When you go to grad school, I'm sure it will be tonnnns better :)

I know how you feel..I moved to a new city a couple months ago and still haven't made any friends. I really miss the awesome ones I have back in Newfoundland. sometimes I'm lonely, but luckily I do at least have my boyfriend so we make the best of it.

don't worry, you seem like a lovely person so I'm sure someone will appreciate you real soon. :o)

I missed Van Halen when they were in Boston, too. Bummer. Van Halen should be on everyone's priority list!

Really sweet look; it reads "rock and roll" to me. And that is awesome.
